Made for the Terrain

This morning, the Buck Moon was so big, bright, and full it almost looked like the sun. Walking beneath it, I thought about the buck, its antlers, and what they represent to me: growth, transformation, and change.
Then I remembered Hinds' Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard (https://a.co/d/0gM7YnQc), one of my favorite allegories. It uses the image of a deer's feet being made for elevation—for navigating high, rocky terrain. That thought, and the memory of the book, stayed with me throughout the day because I am experiencing so much transformation—navigating figurative rocky mountains—in my own life, yet something feels different. There is more ease. Today I noticed myself making right decisions without all the internal ropes and obstacle courses. Something shifted. Something clicked.
The rest of the day seemed to echo that message. I was drawn toward experiences connected to using my voice, mentorship, and purpose, and I navigated them all with ease. Before going to bed, I was inspired to create a mantra that reflected how and what I was feeling: "I am alchemizing lived experiences for healing and freedom." When I said it aloud, I could feel the yes in my heart.
Maybe this season is not asking me to become someone else. Maybe transformation is revealing what has already been there, hiding in plain sight, and allowing me to move with greater ease. Perhaps that is part of our alchemy: doing the quiet work, trusting what is unfolding, and discovering that we may already be made for the terrain ahead.
What if the rocky terrain you have walked was also forming the feet you would need for higher ground?
